New
Year's Eve 2006 at the Liberty Theatre was, quite simply,
extraordinary. Picture a gorgeously renovated
500-seat theatre; a full house of fun, enthusiastic people;
custom-built "bayou/swamp" decor with boat dock
extension & fog machine; full dance floor; great food;
harp virtuoso Tim Beattie sitting in; and record bar sales.
The
stunning Liberty Theatre
in Ft. Scott, Kansas presented "The Midnight Special,”
its 2006 New Year’s Eve special event concert. Featuring
great food, live music by Creedence Again and Lonesome Halos,
special libations, door prizes and full onstage “swamp décor,”
this celebration is not to be missed.
The
beautifully-appointed 500 seat venue was recently restored to
its original glory, including state-of-the-art sound & lights.
Its stage is comparable in size to that of the House Of Blues;
the Liberty also offers full bar & comfortable seating for
all its guests.

LONESOME HALOS
Recently
added to the bill as opener is Lonesome
Halos, featuring Nashville-based harmonica virtuoso Tim Beattie.
Beattie’s lighting-fast harp licks have been compared to
those of John Popper’s “Blues Traveler”; Beattie
also contributes great singing and lap steel. The Halos will present
a special “unplugged” performance to bring in the
New Year, pulling out both originals cuts and great classic songs
such as “Midnight” by Red Foley, “King Of The
Road” by Roger Miller and “Route 66” by Bobby
Troupe, to name a few.
